Sustainability Report 2024

A few days ago, the TROX GROUP published its Sustainability Report 2024, in which it impressively demonstrates how sustainable development is being driven forward at German sites and internationally. The report makes it clear that ecological responsibility has long been part of our daily activities in many areas.

Concrete examples from Germany:

• In Neukirchen-Vluyn, a climate protection project has been growing since 2021 with around 4,000 paulownia trees, which bind many times more CO₂ every year and sprout again after harvesting - a model of sustainable forestry.
• In Anholt, Vluyn and Bad Hersfeld, modern photovoltaic systems together generate over one million kilowatt hours of electricity annually for the company's own use, significantly reducing CO₂ emissions.
• Digital production processes, new heat recovery systems and the switch to low-paper processes ensure that resources are utilised more efficiently and emissions are noticeably reduced.

An example from abroad:

• In Suzhou (China), a new plant was opened in 2024 that is certified to the LEED Platinum standard. It is completely CO₂ neutral and has its own photovoltaic system with a capacity of up to 3 megawatts. In addition, six test laboratories have been set up for acoustics, energy efficiency and ventilation technology. This plant of the future shows how international projects strengthen TROX's global sustainability strategy.

'The projects at our German sites and also internationally show how innovation and ecological responsibility go hand in hand and how much this attitude pays off in everyday life.'

TROX is one of the pioneers in the industry: for the first time, the company is voluntarily publishing a sustainability report in accordance with the European CSRD framework and its European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS). Although reporting will not be mandatory until 2027, stakeholders are already receiving a particularly deep and transparent insight into the company's sustainability activities.
